Goal: Instruct on how to create and manage Microsoft online accounts. Requires login using the Azure tenancy owner account.
Licences
- Go to https://admin.cloud.microsoft/
- Determine what licences are required by either:
- Compare with existing account Users / Active Users / <account> / Licenses and apps
- Billing / Your Products /
- Billing / Licenses
- Purchase license
- Billing / Purchase Services / <select product by clicking Details> /
Create New Account
- Go to https://admin.cloud.microsoft/#/users
- Users / Active users / Add a user
- Firstname: legal name
- Lastname: legal last name
- Display name: can be changed if asked to do so
- Username: <firstname first letter>.<lastname> ie. r.dittmann
- Password: best to let user set their password or offer a safe but intuitive password
Reset password
- Go to https://admin.cloud.microsoft/#/users
- Users / Active users / <select account> / Reset password
- Password: best to let user set their password or offer a safe but intuitive password
